Mark launched his finance and accounting career at a small printing company in Fargo, North Dakota, later moving to Minnesota for a nine-year run in the telecom industry. He then made the move to KFI Engineers to assist with the growth and management of the accounting department. Today, Mark oversees a variety of aspects within the company including finance and accounting, legal, and IT operations. For him, it’s about far more than the numbers. He enjoys interacting and collaborating with all of KFI’s departments. “I work closely with our internal customers. It’s important to me to spend time listening to their needs. We’re a team.”
Mark’s department focuses on providing tools that help guide and direct management to better communicate with clients. His team is continually developing software tools to allow for improved project management. These systems offer project managers a greater sense of awareness, alerting them to potential problems and enhancing response time and correction. “The goal is to create more efficient ways of tracking project budgets, timelines and outcomes.”
- Over 30 years of finance and accounting experience.
- Initiated and refined a management “dashboard” used by KFI’s leaders to monitor scope, schedule and budget of projects.
Clearly someone who thrives on variety, Mark thoroughly enjoys his home life, which is equally action-packed. He spends his free time with his wife and two young adult children, who are active in sports, music, and volunteer events year-round. On weekends, you’ll find the family on an outdoor adventure at a lake or up North. Mark also enjoys time in the field and woods with the family’s springer spaniel.
