Through his stepdad’s test & balance firm, Mark was exposed to the mechanical construction process at a young age, and discovered an interest in HVAC systems.. This curiosity drove him to enroll in a CAD class offered at his high school. As a result, Mark obtained a part time job at a mechanical engineering firm while still attending high school, he continued to work at this firm throughout college, and was offered a full-time position with them after graduation.  Mark went on to own his own mechanical engineering firm for 12 years before KFI presented him with the opportunity to work at a full-service engineering firm.

Mark is a licensed Mechanical Engineer in KFI’s Fargo office, where he designs HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial buildings. He enjoys this area of building design since every project requires unique solutions to serve the needs of each building, as well as the Owner’s needs. In order to work efficiently toward a final solution for the project, Mark likes to make sure he has gathered all the background information about the building, and the client’s needs.

In his free time Mark enjoys the summers with his wife and kids at their family lake place near Pelican Rapids. Year round he is busy running to kids sporting events and school activities.

“I love when clients come with a problem that requires a unique solution. This makes the design process more exciting and the final product is always more satisfying.”
