On Saturday, April 26th, we had the opportunity to join in celebrating the grand re-opening of the University of Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum! Being part of the team on this historic project was an honor.
This $82 million renovation marks the largest investment in women’s sports facilities in the University of Kentucky’s history. The project modernized the facility and included an upgraded memorial. Originally opened in 1950 as a memorial to Kentucky service members who lost their lives in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, the facility first served as the home of the UK Men’s Basketball Team. Today, it proudly houses the UK Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics, and STUNT teams.
KFI provided HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, power, telecommunications, and site utilities designs for this project.
