With natural mechanical ability and a father working as an engineer in the nuclear industry, it’s not surprising Jay pursued a career in engineering. He was with Idaho Power Co. when he met his future wife and moved to Minnesota to get married. He took a job with a local design firm, then met Robert Linder, who convinced him to consider moving to KFI. He liked the idea of an engineering company run by an engineer, and soon joined.
Today, Jay is a licensed mechanical engineer in mechanical design and project management for a wide range of commercial and institutional facilities. He has acted as project manager and project engineer on many of KFI’s high-profile projects. His leadership and commitment to project success have contributed to his reputation as a highly sought-after engineer for unique design and energy-efficient projects. He thrives on idea gathering through conversations with users and other engineers and enjoys solving problems and designing systems that make people’s lives better.
When he’s not at the office, you can find him traveling with his wife, or building things in his shop.
