Jim was initially drawn to the field as a result of his passion for car racing and working on cars. After earning his engineering degree, he worked for Cargill in Plant Production Supervision and Project Management. He then joined KFI as an opportunity to grow professionally and return to his hometown. He appreciates the smaller company feel, and the talented, driven team.

Jim has over 15 years of experience serving as process/project engineer on numerous process plant and utility projects. He has plant operations experience in oilseed processing facilities and extensive project management and field experience. His project experience includes design of multiple greenfield facilities and numerous plant upgrades/expansions as well as commissioning. He actively participates in every project from the conceptual level to startup and is committed to seeing projects all the way through. He also recognizes the value of continuing to learn and develop.

Jim spends nearly all of his out-of-office hours outdoors – wake-boarding, skiing, playing hockey, running, hunting – basically doing anything physically active, no matter what the season. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.

“Lead by example.”
