Al-Corn Accomplishes Exponential Growth with Expansion

June 9, 2025

Since 1994, Al-Corn has supported the local farming economy and its investors by grinding tens of millions of bushels of corn each year and producing even more ethanol. Each year, delivered corn comes from within 80 miles of the plant, meaning Al-Corn’s success directly impacts the profits and lives of local farmers and families, not to mention the distributors that purchase their ethanol.

The company sought to increase efficiency and output without increasing its carbon footprint and number of staff. Before the new expansion, Al-Corn produced 50 million gallons of ethanol per year. Installation of a new 5.5 MW combustion turbine and HRSG with a supplemental fired duct burner helped the company stay competitive, remain operating from a single location, and increase production to 135 million gallons per year. The plant also operates as a zero liquid discharge facility.

Al-Corn also kept the plant online during the project construction, enabling the company to continue producing ethanol and supporting its community farmers. This project is deeply connected to Al-Corn’s commitment to providing clean fuel production and playing a foundational role in local economies.
