Construction continues to advance at Allina Health’s Abbott Northwestern Hospital R.M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center. With all major mechanical and electrical systems in place and the final tower crane being removed, the building is on track to be fully enclosed by the end of November.
KFI staff have been on site supporting equipment installation and startups for all major building systems. Full commissioning is scheduled to begin in February 2026 and will include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, pressure cascade controls, lighting controls, nurse call systems, refrigeration units, and elevators. This phase includes equipment verification, functional testing, and testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB).
This facility is a key part of Abbott Northwestern’s campus revitalization and will support expanded surgical and inpatient services, along with improved integration of building systems.
