August 11, 2025

South Dakota Soybean Processors has been processing beans since the fall of 1996. Since then, their operations have grown to three plants and 2,200 producer members throughout South Dakota. To meet the growing demand for vegetable oil and soy-based products in the United States, SDSP — along with local investors — created High Plains Processing to develop a new, state-of-the-art processing plant near Mitchell, South Dakota.

The new High Plains Processing Plant will bring 85 jobs to Mitchell, reflecting SDSP and HPP’s commitment to providing high-quality, multi-seed products that benefit family farmers, local economies, and consumers across the state.
